What was life like growing up?
Life was tough at times. My dad raised me on his own since I was three. I know it couldnt have been easy raising a little girl turn young woman on your own as a single dad. But he managed to do an amazing job. My dad is really my hero. He's given it all to make me succeed. From putting band-aids on my owiies to making sure college classes are [always] in my life, regardless of what else I have going on. Im sure some things would have been a little easier with a mom aroung, but we managed to get through every obsticle.   

Where you popular in High School
Popular? I wouldn't consider myself popular lol. I knew a lot of people, but I think it was because I hung out with all of the jocks and dancers. I played sports all through highschool so it was kind of mandatory to meet people, you can ask any of my close freinds though, I would have rather been in my own bubble lol. Oh how things change!   

whats the first compliement you get?
My smile, I'll admit, I love it.   

How did you get into modeling?
haha! Actually, yes. I started with JRP when I was 7 and stayed with them for a fiew years. Right around the time elementry school was ending I took a break to try other things. Thats when I discovered sports. After high school I started building my portfolio again.   

What was it like to pose for the first time?
OMG I was so nervous! I will never forget it. I didnt know what to do, how to move, what to do with my face and my hands lol.   

Do you still get nervous before a shoot?
I always get nervous before any big event I do, but its a good kind of nervous. Once I start doing my thing, I dont even notice them though.   

What makes a great photographer?
They have to be fun to work with. I dont need a lot of direction, but its nice to hear their ideas and input. I once had this photographer that was really quiet, and he would just aim and shoot and then bring the camera down and stare at me, pick the camera back up and start again. haha. It was the most awkward shoot Ive ever done.   

Greatest Modeling / Fitness accomplishment so far?
The bikini and lingerie fashion show that I just did. I was so excited and happy to do it. Runway is what Ive always wanted to do, since day one. But I'm too short for most of the companies. So to be able to do this one felt like a milestone for me.   

Tell us your most memorable shoot?
When I shot with Lee Robinson (SNAB photography). He had me walking back and forth over 11 acres of land. We would change then walk out to our spot in the refinery. Then walk back, change, and go back out in another direction lol. He had such an amazing energy and his ideas were great. I love to work with photographers that can challenge me in my modeling. (poses, facial expressions, potraying specific themes/ideas).   

Any current exciting projects your working on?
I'm always working on something... you will just have to stay tuned and see for yourself :)   

Ever thought about acting
Hmmm. Its crossed my mind. Im not sure how I'd do with it though. Ive been told I can be quite the little drama queen haha.   

What are your dreams or goals in life?
I want to get a major in chemistry and go into the oncology field with it. My great Grandma's both passed from cancer so I'd like to be able to make a difference. As for my modeling, Id love to be more established in a career.   

Like to travel?  Where..
I love to tavel! I have so many plans to go EVERYWHERE. I want to go to Miami, Hawaii, Italy, Japan, Paris.. just all over the place.   

What makes you feel sexy?
Believe it or not, I feel sexy when im sitting at home on my couch with a baggy t-shirt and some shorts on. I am comfortable in my body any place, date, or time. Sexy comes from the inside, not the appearance. Its the way a you carry yourself.   

Who has been the most inspirational person in your life?
My daddy. Without him I would not be who I am today. Hes always taught me to be independent, motivated, and ambitious. My goals are to surpass his, and nothing is ever good enough for my dad, so I always work hard(er) than most people. :)

What was life like growing up?
I was a tomboy growing up. I grew up with my brother, my 2 cousins and my grandparents. We all lived together in a huge house with nannies. My parents got divorced when I was really young but I feel like I had a good childhood regardless. Maybe not a typical one but a really good one thanks to my grandparents. <3

Were you popular in High School
My high school was HUGE. We had a lot of people so it wasn't like a small town HS. I definitely wasn't emo and I did know quite a lot of people (by face anyways. I am horrible with names) but I wouldn't say I was popular. I was always so busy with modeling and my part time jobs. But I have a hand full of close friends from HS that I am always hanging out.   

whats the first compliement you get?
I have a lisp but people love it for some reason. People always compliment on how sexy my voice is and I find it really funny lol   

How did you get into modeling?
It was weird. I started off 5 years ago with doing a random gig for macys, and I got scouted by an agency. It's hard for me because I am really petite. I can't do high fashion because of my height. I can't do some of the really sexy shoots because of my body. But I like the way my body is. I am only 19 right now, I refuse to get fake boob implants to get really into import modeling or anything really. My shoots are sexy but classy and I like that its not just about how big my boobs are or how skinny I look. It's what makes me different.    

What was it like to pose for the first time?
I wasn't nervous at all. And I think that's when I realized, I like modeling and I was a natural at it. But of course, not perfect. Over the years, I've learned to pose better.    

Do you still get nervous before a shoot?
Most of the time, not at all.

VS style. messy sex hair, cute lingerie.

some one who makes you feel comfortable and not creep on you.

Ever thought about acting
yes. I went to a casting for disney not too long ago. I like acting, I think it can take me farther than modeling .. 


What are your dreams or goals in life?
I want to have my own high end clothing store in soho. I am going to be a really independent and successful business woman. I will never depend on anyone, especially men. I adore modeling but I am realistic. I need more than modeling to make my dreams come true.

I would love to travel the world one day.

I feel sexy at photoshoots, when my hair and make up is all done and I am just in a really cute bikini. lol

Who has been the most inspirational person in your life?
My grandmother. She raised me my entire life and she passed away recently on my birthday. I love you lola and I will miss you always <3

What was life like growing up?
I was taken away from my mother when I was 10 years old due to her drug abuse. My father has never really been in the picture, I mean I know who he is and where he lives but haven't seen him in 10 years. My best friend's family was kind enough to take me in at the age of 13 even though they already had 4 kids of their own and I lived with them until I moved to go to college. I consider them my immediate family and continue to visit them often. Without them I would not be the well adjusted member of society that I am today.   (editor is trying to adjust, and had an easy childhood)

Where you popular in High School
Although, I knew most people in school and hung around with a wide variety of people, I was involved with a legalistic Bible thumping evangelical church so I'm not sure that I was all too popular in High School. I was also a bit of a tomboy so I guess you could consider me a late bloomer.  

whats the first compliement you get?
The first compliment I get is usually on my tattoos or my hair. I enjoy getting compliments about the coloring on my tattoos but I don't enjoy getting asked if they hurt getting them. I usually respond with no, they were licked on by kittens because I tend to be a bit of a smart ass like that lol. Part of the meaningfulness of tattoos is the pain of the process. No pain, no gain as they say.    

How did you get into modeling?
I modeled as a child on runways in Hawaii and wanted back into it when I was a young teenager. I sort of lost that dream when I didn't grow as tall as I was expected to. Both my parents are 6' tall but I stopped growing at 5'3 for some reason so high fashion was out of the question. I got back into it in 2008 when I was inspired by tattooed pinup girls because it doesn't matter so much how tall you are or what your measurements are and tattoos are welcome. So I started out doing a lot of pinup inspired photo shoots and as I grew in confidence I ventured out to other genres.    



What was it like to pose for the first time?
I was a little nervous for my first photo shoot but mostly excited. I practiced a lot in the mirror and had my husband take a few pix of me so I could see how to pose etc. I'd say it turned out well for my first time.   


Do you still get nervous before a shoot?
Sometimes. If there's a large crowd watching me or if I'm having a hard time interpreting what the photographer wants. But for the most part I'm doing what I love and I enjoy every minute of it.   

Favorite type of pose?
I wouldn't say that I have a favorite pose. I really try to do something different every time. I'm always trying to expand my horizon and learn what I can do differently in every shoot.   

What makes a great photographer?
A great photographer knows the female form and knows what angles look best. They aren't afraid to snap too many shots and are constantly trying to catch beauty in motion. I've worked with so many wonderful photographers choosing a favorite would be like choosing a favorite star in the sky.   

Favorite Female Model?
My favorite model is Mosh (http://www.themoshroom.com/) She is an alternative model and she rocks every shoot. She inspires me with all the crazy sexy poses she does.

Tell us your most memorable shoot?
My most memorable shoot was with photographer Neerav Verma (ishoot.us) on the corner of Grand and Wilshire Blvd. in Los Angeles. I was modeling in the streets while people were bustling about their business and of course staring. I got a few cat calls and honks from motorists. Fun times.   (we call that guerilla style)

Any current exciting projects your working on?
I've been venturing out into the world of makeup and trying some new stuff with incorporating jewels into the makeup. I've also been working on a few sewing projects and modifying my wardrobe.    

Ever thought about acting
Acting is not really my thing. I'm open to the idea but I wouldn't say it's something I'm good at doing.   

What are your dreams or goals in life?
My dream is to be doing something I love and make money doing it. Not many people can say they are doing that these days. I hope that it would be modeling or something in that field but with the economy the way it is now I'm not sure that will be happening in the near future. I just keep moving forward and hoping for the best.

I LOVE to travel! If I could I would tour Europe. England, Spain, Italy, France all of it.

A good workout and a great hair day make me feel sexy.

What was life like growing up?
I was a tomboy. Im the only girl in my whole family. Loved Sports. Always got along better with boys. Have a few close girl friends but most of my friends are guys.

Just decided to give it ago. Entered a few modelling comps and it went from there.

I had NO idea what i was doing! I was very nervous.

Depends what the shoot is for. If its a big publication shoot or a catalouge i can a little bit. However i am very at home infront of the camera now.

A great pout!   

What makes a great photographer?
One that knows the best angles and can see when your hair etc is not in the right place. Will also encourage and give you feedback. Also one that does't go over board on the airbrushing!

Shooting for a swimwear label i was sitting on a waterfall with someone blocking the water and without me knowing they planned to let the water out to get my expression on camera.

What was life like growing up?
Life growing up was a good one, I have always been an independent person, since i was a child but i was always supported in my decisions and aspirations. my parents are very supportive and i am very lucky. Moving from Cali when i was younger to vegas was a great move because there are so many opportunities for me to be the best i can be.

I was very popular, i went to a school where i was in broadcasting and was on the school news every single day. Everyone knew who i was and i was friends with everyone. not stuck up, very nice and friendly

I was told i had a unique look multiple times so i started looking into modeling then i got contacted to shoot for a Ferrari calendar and that was the kick off of ashley marie the model!

The 1st shoot i ever had, i felt awkward! i wasnt sure how to position myself, but as i got into it, it came natural

I dont get nervous, i get excited!! I always have fun with it

What was life like growing up?
growing up i lived on a farm. i spent all day every day feeding and cleaning up after animals and workin in the garden. after i moved out i spent my days working on my truck in the garage with my friends and my nights in the woods 4wheeling, mud wrestling and drinking beer and whiskey at the bonfire. i moved to vegas to get out of that small town and miss it more than anything and am going back home soon but still want to be a model.

i was at a movie premier at the Planet Hollywood Casino and a girl came to me to ask if i ever did any modeling she introduced me to the photographer she was with Shaun Goodrick with Las Vegas Glamour he did my first photo shoot and got me my first paid gig, a music video he also got me in my first printed magazine

What was it like to pose for the first time?
i was nervous for a little bit but i ended up taking playboy style photos and everything was good, turns out i had too many tattoos for playboy

i dont get nervous before shoots anymore but i am nervous for a bikini contest i have coming up

we were topless shooting covered in sand for a jewelry catalog and the police showed up and kicked us off the beach. we had to finish the shoot down the beach where there was only border control they did not care "

The David vs. "David" standoff marks the moment that underwear has come out of the drawers and off the shelves to become, to men's fashion, the female equivalent of the handbag. It is an accessory - and even a necessity - that can be turned into big bucks.

Behind Giorgio Armani's focus on Beckham, which has roots in the cozy relationship he has developed with international soccer stars, is the realization that although one pair of pants may look much like another, branding with celebrity endorsement gives sales superpower.

"Never before has the world been so interested in legends - and sports stars reach another group of people," says Armani. "The day after we announced the Beckham collaboration, we got great results both commercially and image wise."

To the uninformed they look like the kind of nerdy boys that couldn't get the girl at the school disco, but after years of losing out to their beefy peers, the skinny male is having his day. As London Fashion Week kicks off this weekend, stick-thin men will be parading the catwalks promoting an ideal of male beauty that is a far cry from the bulked-up models of the Eighties and Nineties.

But as indie kids and fashionistas across the country squeeze themselves into the latest drainpipe jeans, fashion's move towards a male size zero has a more serious consequence: it heralds an era where men – like women – feel pressure to conform to a waif-like body image.

The masculine ideal has undergone a step change, putting pressure on young men to conform to a new body shape. The fashion expert and agent Johnathan Phang explained: "Suddenly, you've got lots of guys becoming models who never thought they could be; the sort of people who were normally considered weeds or nerdy-looking."

15 male cardiac rehab patients will be showing their support for the American Heart Association “Go Red for Women” campaign Monday by modeling red dresses at Erlanger’s Chattanooga Lifestyle Center. The annual male fashion show begins at 11:15 a.m., Feb. 11, at the Chattanooga Lifestyle Center, with each participant strutting his stuff in a red dress, wig, make-up and jewelry.

“This is one of our most fun, most anticipated events of the year,” said Dee Clark, RN, with the Chattanooga Lifestyle Center. “The men who model in our annual fashion show go to great lengths to wear the best red outfit,” she said.

Tickets to the fundraiser are $10 and reservations must be made in advance. Guests can pay $1 per vote for their favorite model, “buying” an unlimited amount of votes. The male model collecting the most votes/money is named winner, with all proceeds donated to the local AHA “Go Red For Women” campaign.

How Rory Marshall became the pin-up boy of a global fashion house. Just before meeting the main man a small group of Ralph Lauren's staff asked Marshall to introduce himself and tell them something interesting about his life.

The conversation went like this:

Rory: "Hello, my name's Rory Marshall, I live in a small Yorkshire town called Ilkley where I live in a little house which was actually once owned by Enid Blyton."

Staff: "Wow! Gee! That's amazing!! Enid Blyton."

Rory: "Do you know who Enid Blyton is?"

Staff: "Er, no."

Fortunately they did know a potential icon when they saw one and Marshall, 29, landed himself just about the top gig a model can get – the new face of Polo.

Alongside fronting campaigns for Calvin Klein or Georgio Armani it doesn't get much bigger than that.

NEW YORK (AP) — The fall trends shown Saturday at New York Fashion Week are bound to cause a collective shiver: Along with chunky turtlenecks and peacoats, prepare for super-short miniskirts.

The leggy look was big at shows for Nicole Miller, Lacoste, BCBG Max Azria, Erin Fetherston, Abaete and Kimora Lee Simmons' Baby Phat line — among the early previews for editors, retailers and stylists at the tents at Bryant Park.

Most minis were paired with opaque tights and ballet flats, a good sign for women who bought into those trends last fall. Treat those things with care and you'll get another season out of them.

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week still has plenty of time for new "it" items to emerge. Runway shows run through Feb. 8 with Oscar de la Renta, Diane von Furstenberg, Zac Posen and a new incarnation of Bill Blass yet to preview their collections.

Madhur Bhandarkar is known for his realistic films, and it is a known fact that all his films have created controversies before release, but this time things are different. His forthcoming film Fashion finds itself in the midst of controversy from the very beginning.

And the latest story doing the rounds is that Madhur Bhandarkar has shot a wardrobe malfunction scene with Kangana Ranaut. The scene was based on the infamous Carol Gracias wardrobe malfunction incident that happened at the Lakme Fashion Week in 2006According to news, Carol Gracias was also present when Madhur shot the scene.

It can be recalled that Kangana is playing model Geetanjali Nagpal (a model who found herself on the road to self destruction) and debutante actress model Mugdha Ghodse is playing Carol's role in Fashion .

So the question is: Why did Kanagna shoot for the controversial scene when Mughda should have? We contacted to Bhandarkar but the filmmaker chose not to comment on it. "I am not going to talk about the issue. Let the confusion remain!" he told us.

When fashion photographer Solve Sundsbo started his career, for a while it seemed as though he would get no further than the dole queue. "People would say to me, 'I'm not sure I can hire you, I'm not sure what you're doing. What is your style?' I was mortified and thought I was never going to make a living as a photographer."


The problem was that curiosity had got the better of the young Norwegian and he couldn't help but embrace every photographic technique going. His work incorporated everything from X-rays and 3-D scanning to hi-tech manipulation and laborious hand-painted retouching. "If I've got a style," says Sundsbo, "it's that I've got no style."
